Farm Trail

Tips for Touring

Use this guide to plan a trip that you won't soon forget! Please note that many of the sites in this guide are opening seasonally depending on the produce that is grown or activities that are offered. We hope you will visit Southeast Tennessee in every season to enjoy all that we have to offer!

TIPS FOR TOURING

1. Call ahead to make an appointment if requested.
2. When planning a time for your visit, note whether the site is on CST or EST.
3. Notify the site staff in advance if you have special needs or will need special assistance.
4. Remember that many sites are working farms. For your safety, please stay in areas that are designated for visitors.
5. Always ask before petting horses, cows and other animals unless they are in a clearly marked petting area.
6. Please help keep each site clean by cleaning up camping or picnic areas and always throw trash away.
7. Feel free to ask for a recipe if you particularly like a certain food, but please understand if it is a secret family recipe.
8. Consider the appropriateness of an educational tour if you are bringing children. Are there special activities or programs for children?
9. Remember that you will be outside a lot and dress appropriately: comfortable shoes, hats and sunscreen.
10. Enjoy your visit! Ask questions, encourage children to ask questions, introduce yourself to the owners and learn about the site and its operation.
