68) to draw additional visitors. In the 1820s gold was discovered in Coker Creek and today visitors to Coker Creek can pan for gold, enjoy a number of recreational activities such as horseback riding, camping, hayrides, etc. An Autumn Gold festival the second week of October draws a large number of visitors each year to experience the beauty of the changing leaves along with foods, arts and crafts of the region. A set of grist mill stones carved by R. G. Spurling is located on the site of the general store and could be highlighted to attract visitors.
