Hiwassee River
- Type II The Hiwassee River is a coldwater tailrace that offers some of Tennessee's finest fishing for Rainbow and Brown Trout. Striped Bass have been taken right up to the Powerhouse section in periods of high water flow during the summer. Smallmouth Bass and other panfish are taken with more regularity the further downstream one travels.

Ocoee River - Type II The coldwater discharge Parksville Lake provides habitat for Trout and other species from Parksville Dam to the confluence with the Hiwassee River. All of these waters listed lie within the Cherokee National Forest and are stocked with Rainbow Trout. An added bonus is the Trophy Trout section on the river north and east of Reliance. This section enables anglers to fish for trophy trout, with the largest brook trout taken from the Hiwassee weighing in at 31-lbs. 14 oz. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) regulates the flow of the Hiwassee River so it is essential that you know the water level of the river and adjust your fishing techniques accordingly. Striped bass have been taken right up to the Powerhouse section of the Hiwassee in periods of high water flow during the summer months. Smallmouth bass and other panfish are taken with more regularity the further downstream you travel. TVA does not regulate the water level here and the river abounds with deep holes, rocky crevices, and woody thickets.

Parksville Reservoir - Type I (Ocoee) Parksville Lake is a clear, deep lake located at the mouth of the Ocoee River Gorge. Although not as prolific as some of the mainstream Tennessee River reservoirs, this lake does hold moderate numbers of Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, White Bass and other Panfish. In addition, Parksville offers deep water fishing for Trout that find their way into the lake from the many stocked feeder streams along its course. You must have a valid Tennessee license and appropriate permits to fish in the Cherokee National Forest, and you are responsible for knowing the fishing regulations and seasons.
