North Chickamauga Pocket Wilderness Area Trails
 

Opened in 1993, this 1,100-acre wilderness is named for North Chickamauga Creek. Two easy trails, Hogskin Branch Loop, a 1.5-mile round-trip hike, and the 7.8-mile round-trip Stevenson Branch Trail take you by overlooks, waterfalls, wildflowers, picnic tables, and a camping area. The North Chickamauga Pocket Wilderness Area is within the Chickamauga Gulch, a gorge about 600 feet deep.

 Directions: From Chattanooga , go north on US 27 to the intersection with TN 153. At the junction of TN 153 and US 27, TN 153 becomes Dayton Pike. Continue on Dayton Pike 3 miles to the intersection with Montlake Road. Turn left on Montlake Roadand go 1 mile to the pocket wilderness sign and access road. Turn left (west) on the access road, and continue to the parking, picnic areas and trailhead.
