Fooshee Peninsula Small Wild Area offers stakeholders solitude and magnificent views of the reservoir. An existing trail loops through an excellent example of upland, dry-site Chestnut and Oak forest ending at a bluff-like overlook area. The bluff is occasionally used by wintering Bald Eagles and offers an outstanding scenic view of the reservoir. The TVA land is open for hunting during statewide seasons and appropriate signs have been placed at the trailhead to inform the general public of this use (Please use caution when hiking during hunting seasons). The current trailhead for the area is located adjacent to Fooshee Pass Recreation/Camping area.
