Southern Star restaurant was born in 1996 in South Georgia when we decided to leave the corporate world. We operated a successful, full service restaurant for three and a half years, but decided a change of scenery was a must! After studying several large markets, we picked Chattanooga as our new home. We opened in October of 2000 in a quaint but small space on the Southside. One and a half years later we were ready for more space (and better parking) and relocated to the Freight Depot.
Our goal at Southern Star is the same as it has always been-to serve an outstanding product, with great service in a fun atmosphere. Every sauce, soup, dressing, and side item is made fresh daily in our kitchen with the finest, quality ingredients!
