Built on a 90-foot limestone bluff overlooking the Tennessee River, a 1904 classical revival mansion and a contemporary structure, the Hunter Museum of American Art houses the finest collection of American art in the Southeast. The collection of the Hunter Museum spans the history of American art from the colonial periood to the present day and covers a wide variety of media including painting, sculpture, contemporary studio glass and crafts.

Hours: Mon-Tues 10am-5pm, Wed 12noon-5pm, Thurs 10am-9pm, Fri-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 12noon-5pm

Cost: $8.00 Adults/ $4.00 Children (ages 3-17, 3 and under FREE)
*Children under 13 FREE on weekends and holidays.

Directions: Take I-24 to downtown Chattanooga; U.S. Highway 27 North. Take exit 1C. Right on 4th Street. Turn Left on High Street and follow High Street straight into the Museum’s parking lot.
