North Chickamauga Creek - Type II Hamilton County's Type II streams are stocked with rainbow trout in early spring. Although fishing can be good in the cooler season - most of the stocked trout are 'fished out' by summer, with the exception of a few 'hold-over' fish. By June, these streams become Type III.

Possum Creek - Type I The lower two-thirds of Chickamauga, from the Hiwassee River south, lies in Hamilton County. Chickamauga is a noted Largemouth and Spotted Bass fishery, and holds good numbers of Crappie, Bluegill, Shellcracker, and Catfish.

Nickajack Reservoir - Type I (Headwaters) The tailrace of Chickamauga Dam and riverine section of Nickajack that flows past Chattanooga into the Tennessee River Gorge is an excellent fishery for Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, White Bass, Panfish and Catfish.
