Harris Park
Between Cedar and Walnut Street
Dunlap, TN
423-949-2115 (City Hall)
In 1982 the City of Dunlap leased this parcel of property from the D. M. Harris heirs for 100 years, to be established into a city park. The property had been in the Harris family since 1915, with Mr. D. M. Harris the 1st Mayor for the City of Dunlap. In July of 1996 members of the Park Board met with Ms. Addie Lou Harris, with Ms. Harris agreeing to donate and deed over the property to the City in Memory of Mr. Harris, which a monument now represents.
Additions to the park have been added for public use. A gazebo was purchased from Kauffman's Gazebos of Clarkrange Tennessee, to be used as a bandstand for park concerts. If you would liek to schedule an event, just contatct city hall. Also located on the north end of the park is a pavillion, named in Honor of Robert T. Jarrell which can be scheduled for picnics and reunions.
No park could be complete without a place for the little ones. A playground was donated by Dr. Barry Wagner in Honor of his father Mayor George Wagner for his many years of service to the City of Dunlap and the community.
