The Chattanooga Nature Center was established in 1979, and since that time over 300,000 people have visited this unique and beautiful sanctuary at the base of Lookout Mountain , Tennessee . Because we are located in one of the most biologically rich areas of the country, we feel a tremendous responsibility to provide a variety of programming that encompasses our natural heritage and focuses on the importance of local biodiversity.

Our Mission : Through Environmental Education the Chattanooga Nature Center empowers individuals with an ethic of stewardship and informed decision-making to affect human impact on native wildlife and the land upon which it depends.

Come and take part in one of our many public programs, participate in a guided hike, sign up for a school program, join a discussion group, or just enjoy the calm serenity of the forest. Check our website for updated information on the many activities going on at the Chattanooga Nature Center .

  • Get eye-to eye with a bald eagle, bobcat, red-tailed hawk and a variety of owls
  • Come nose-to-nose with Red Wolves, one of the most endangered animals in the world
  • Marvel at the largest Timber Rattlesnake in captivity
  • Exlpore wetlands along a boardwalk that wanders into one of the largest treehouses in North America
  • See spectacular views of historic Lookout Mountain as you hike, bike or drive through 300 acres of adjoining Reflection Riding Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
     

Hours: Open Year Round, 9am-5pm Mon-Sat/ 1pm-5pm Sundays (April-October)

Admission: $7 Adults/ $4 Children (ages 4-11) and Seniors (65+)
