Monteagle, TN
This community fair features a variety of high-quality local crafts and presentations, including bands of every variety, dance groups, theater skits, and handcraft demonstrations.
The fair takes place annually in the Spring, highlighting native plant sales. The crafts show is juried to keep quality high, featuring a selection of items made by artisans and artists who live on the mountain or in valley areas nearby. In previous years, the offerings included handcrafted woodwork, a fine selection of thrown pottery, pencil drawings and paintings, fine photographic prints, and decorated hats and baskets.
Music is only a part of the fair, but it features solo performers and bands from the local area. The music includes rock, folk, rockabilly, and country, with a handful of old time and bluegrass and 'newgrass' offerings. Past years have included Marion County Bluegrass Band, The Possum Hunters, Piney Ridge, The Good Old Boys and One Good Old Girl.
Suitable for large groups.
Admission is free.
The fair takes place at Monteagle City Park, off Main Street, next to the DuBose Conference Center, and across from High Point Restaurant.
