2004 marked the 27th annual Bill Poteet Memorial Bluegrass Festival, on the 2nd Friday and Saturday of September. The daughter of this well-known local mandolin player organizes the festival at the Delano Community Club.
The festival has a selection of fine bluegrass and old-time bands.
The organizers advertise 'lots of good home cooking along with plenty of Grandma's deserts both Friday and Saturday. Famous Lion's Club Pit Barbeque on Saturday.'
Admission is low typically $6 on Friday and $7 on Saturday
Directions: The festival is located one block off Highway 411 between Etowah and Benton. Turn by the Delano Branch Bank onto Highway 163, then go 1 block and turn right toward the Delano Baptist Church. The concert area is across from the church at the community club.
