The West Polk Fire and Rescue Station #7 and Linsdale Community Service Center is the location of a weekend bluegrass festival on the fourth full weekend in May and another on the third Friday and Saturday of August.
Regional bands such as Crosswinds, Shady Hollow, Hiwassee Ridge, Borderline, and Liberty Boys are booked for the event. There is plenty of jamming with pickers and performers in the evening hours.
The music takes place in a covered building.
Bring a lawn chair for seating.
Admission is low, about $5 per night or $8 for a weekend pass.
On Saturday, they prepare Barbecue Chicken with all the fixings.
There is plenty of good food both days.
Directions: Linsdale Community Center is off County Road 968 on Chestuee Road. To reach it from Benton, take Highway 411 to Highway 163, then left on County Road 968, then right on Chestuee Road. From Cleveland, take Highway 11, to Highway 163, then right on county road 968, and then right on Chestuee Road.
