'Celebrating the Music of Tennessee' was the theme for the 57th Annual Tennessee Strawberry Festival. The festival began with a Strawberry Beauty Pageant and a Demolition Derby. Promotional material lists the variety of activities spreading across ten days: a Pie & Cake Baking Contest, a 'Cruise-In' featuring Classic Cars, Block Parties, a Bike Race, food and crafts for sale, fine art, and musician entertainment. The event will take place in downtown Dayton.
The musical events include country bands, a bluegrass competition, a set of gospel music, and a music jam session featuring various artists.
Of course, strawberries and food specialties made from fresh strawberries are on sale throughout the festival -- jam, pies, cookies, ice cream and candy.
Suitable for large groups.
Bus parking available.
Admission costs are low, typically $6 for adults and $4 for children.
