Graysville, TN
This festival is held annually in October in memory of Curly Fox. Festival is held at the Graysville City Park from 10am-5pm. Festival performances include gospel, bluegrass and Texas swing.
The Grand Old Opry was Curly Fox's home form many years, but he got his start in this small community, and participated in the fiddling contests and 'staged fiddling contests' with Natchee the Indian in the 1920s and 30s.
Fox's childhood home, bordered on one side by the train tracks and the other by a large field, has been restored by a Rhea County couple, Shirley and Jim May, and holds wonderful memorabilia from Mr. Fox's stellar musical career.
The festival is suitable for large groups.
Admission costs are low, typically $1.
