The Sequatchie County Hee Haw Show is a hoot! This annual fundraiser for
Sequatchie
County
's chapter of the American Cancer Society helps the organization to assist cancer patients and their families with needed services and supplies. Organized by volunteers, this event features acts reminiscent of the late 60's TV show featuring "Minnie Pearl" and the gang. Local musicians and vocalists play such characters as "Dolly Parton," "Patsy Cline," "Roy Acuff" "George Jones," and others "to a T," also drawing on the talents of young actors, vocalists and instrumentalists. Local vocalist Billy Gaston, seems almost to become "Marty Robbins" on stage.
The shows take place Friday and Saturday evening at the Sequatchie County High School Auditorium and--for 14 years running now--are scheduled for the second weekend in July.
