New Hope, TN
On the 4th Saturday of each month at Clayton's Pickin' Barn 7pm-10pm is a performance of local bluegrass and country groups. Refreshments, and an occasional pot luck supper will precede the performance with delicious Southern-style homemade dishes and desserts. Often a jam session will form outside (weather permitting) of musicians waiting to go onstage, or just jamming.
There is a high quality microphone set up by the house for amplified acoustic performance. The small stage features bluegrass, country, and old-time fiddling. Local family bands and regional bands are featured, including Bend in the River with the Choate family musicians. Tri-State Bluegrass Band is the host band. Other local bands and combos are invited to perform. Some pickup bands are usually found to round out the evening.
