This is a very specialized jam with a variety of musicians who love old-time fiddling, old-time singing, and backless banjo played the clawhammer way. The music is old-time and --more specifically-- is old-time from this area. Musicians who favor old time music are welcome, both beginners and more advanced. Fiddlers are especially welcome.
The jam takes place in the South Pittsburg Mountain Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall Kitchen on South Pittsburg Mountain, TN. This tends to be a small jam session, that can fit into the kitchen of the Fire Hall, or--weather permitting--one that moves outdoors into the parking lot on warm evenings. The jam is not by invitation only, but is almost exclusively for musicians who play old-time music. It takes place on the second Wednesday of each month, from 6:30pm-11pm (Central Time).
Not suitable for large groups due to limited space.
Pickers of all levels and listeners are welcome.
