Ocoee Whitewater Center Closed

The Ocoee Whitewater Center that rests in between Copperhill and Cleveland will be closed until further notice. A fire destroyed most of the building on April 26.

Damage caused by random fire of the Ocoee Whitewater Center.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire since it was the middle of the night. However, the loss is significant because the Ocoee Whitewater Center was originally built to host the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.

Despite the center and its parking lot being closed, all of the trails that surround it are open! The trails are Rhododendron Trail, Bear Paw Loop Trail, Old Copper Road Trail, 64 Connector Path and Chestnut Mountain Loop/Bear Paw Connector Trail.
